Hello wonderful Claremont Families.
I am Mr. Mayer, the principal of Claremont and I wanted to welcome you to the 2020-21 academic school year! We particularly want to welcome all of our new families to the Claremont community! We also wanted to take this opportunity to share with you a few key points.
Please know that all information about the beginning of the school year is tentative until labor negotiations are completed for all employees. All OUSD schools will begin on August 10th. We are planning that the first 4 weeks will be distance learning, with students participating with school remotely every day.
We will be sending out a mailing this week! Included in this packet will be this welcome letter from me, a letter from the PTA, our PTA Annual Fund, and information about how to get connected. It will also include a family questionnaire, which will support us in planning for the upcoming year. Please fill this out asap! There will be another survey coming shortly from the OUSD District Office. Contact Mrs. Anderson if you need support with accessing the documents in languages other than English, or if you are not able to access it electronically.
I will also be doing a series of “Fireside Chats” (via zoom) to share information as we get it, as well as to answer many of your questions. The first Fireside Chat will be on Friday, July 24th at 3:30pm. The Zoom link to log in will be posted on the website, and sent out to all families via School Messenger by Thursday, July 23rd. I hope to see you there.
Finally, I want to remind you that your school administration is here to answer your questions and help you navigate as best as we can during this challenging time together.
I hope to see you on-line at the Fireside Chat on Friday, July 24th at 3:30, where we will discuss the Fall Schedule, OUSD’s , “Mini-mester Remote Learning Schedule”, and some of the overall support and concerns you may have as we begin the fall semester.
