Admission & Enrollment

Admission to Claremont Middle School is determined by the Oakland Unified School District’s Student Assignment Center, which manages student assignments for all Oakland public schools. There are two ways to apply for admission to Claremont:

ADMISSION FOR THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR: Most of our students gain admission through the OUSD Options Process, which allows Oakland residents to apply for admission to any school in the district at the appropriate grade level for the following school year. ADMISSION FOR THE CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR: If you need to enroll a middle school student for the current school year, you must apply in person at the OUSD Student Assignment Center l (746 Grand Ave., Portable A, Oakland, CA 94610, telephone 510-273-1600). Tours of Claremont Middle School

Due to COVID-19, we are currently reworking our tour process.  Please check back here in the Fall for updated tour information.

Fifth graders and their parents/guardians are invited to tour Claremont on the following dates. Click on the date below to sign up.

Tour Dates:

Tours run from 8:45 – 10:00 a.m.

Meet at the front entrance to Claremont (5750 College Ave) at 8:45 a.m. Tours conclude by 10:00 a.m. Tours include a walk-through of the school as well as question-and-answer time with current students and a school administrator. Current Claremont students will lead 5th graders on their own tour. Adults and kids will meet together for the question-and-answer session.
