Admission & Enrollment

Admission to Claremont Middle School is determined by the Oakland Unified School District’s Student Assignment Center, which manages student assignments for all Oakland public schools. There are two ways to apply for admission to Claremont:

ADMISSION FOR THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR: Most of our students gain admission through the OUSD Options Process, which allows Oakland residents to apply for admission to any school in the district at the appropriate grade level for the following school year. ADMISSION FOR THE CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR: If you need to enroll a middle school student for the current school year, you must apply in person at the OUSD Student Assignment Center l (746 Grand Ave., Portable A, Oakland, CA 94610, telephone 510-273-1600). Tours of Claremont Middle School – 2020/2021

Due to COVID-19, our current tour process is online. We invite you to see a virtual tour of our school and learn more about what we offer. Or wander around the 3D tour to navigate the halls on your own.

In addition, all Oakland 5th graders and their families are invited to attend a live Zoom panel with staff and current students. During this event, you will get an overview of our school and have the chance to ask any questions on your mind. Please join us by registering below for any one of these dates. After you register, you will be sent important information and the link to the event.
