Claremont is fielding three teams in this year’s Oakland Athletic League middle school soccer competition – one girls’ team and two boys’ teams. All three teams played last Saturday.
The Claremont Knights Girls Team won their match against Frick Middle School 1-0. Marley Sonke scored for the Knights.
The Boys Soccer Team (Claremont Black) beat Roots Academy on a last-second goal from Jack Klein. The final score was 2-1. Their first goal was set up by a steal and pass from Francis Cordova Rojas to Nico Quinn to Ben Leslie, back to Nico and scored by Jack Klein. Claremont Orange lost to Urban Promise Academy.
